GOOD MORNING VIETNAM! We are in Ho Chi Minh City!

View from our hotel room-Park Hyatt.

We started our day with a fabulous breakfast. My favorite is the unusual fruit: Passion Fruit, Dragon Fruit, Pomelo, Vietnamese green baby apple,  Phuoc rose apple, Longun, and Pambutan.

There are many preparations for TET, the Chinese New Year. This flower/plant is
a HOA MAI and is popular for the new year. It sits in the entrance of our hotel lobby. It represents
LUCK, HEALTH & HAPPINESS!

Mike has to listen to the Husker basketball game @ 9:30AM before we go out!

Lots of decorations out for TET.

It's the Year of the DRAGON!

We took a 4 hour, walking street food tour this afternoon. This is grilled sticky
rice with banana and a coconut sauce.

Lotus flower....the national flower.

It starts out in this form, then you have to gently fold back the leaves.

This guy is burning red envelopes because he had someone die this year and he is
releasing the possibility of any bad spirits?  (If my translation is correct!)

Chairs big enough for pre-school kiddos!

Square One restaurant in our hotel, Park Hyatt.

Chocolate souffle for dessert.

We debated....a volcano of Rice? or Salt?
If you guessed SALT, you are correct!

The bar at Square One in the hotel.
