GIN is the popular drink. Lots of choices at our Hotel Raffles.
Today we rode our bikes through the countryside to Bayon Temple & Ta Prohm Temple for guided walks.
We started our ride from Seim Reap and rode through impoverished villages, still trying to recover from years of the Khmer Rouge. Ta Prohm is like being on a set for Indiana Jones as the jungle/trees have taken over. In some cases, the trees have split the temple and also still holds it together.
We ate lunch at a local friend's house for a home cooked meal. It was delicious!
This is the neighborhood gas station! One industrious person collects bottles and drives into the city to collect gasoline. Most people drive motorcycles so they don't use a lot of gas.
Good example of the trees growing through and above the temple.
These little kids were so excited to see us. We were riding through the country side and saw all of the flowers and large pictures. The locals were getting ready for a BIG WEDDING that will last several days.
Note the pictures of the bride and groom in the backdrop.
This is the team that held direct us through the villages and country side. You never have to worry about taking a wrong turn!
