Bike into Da Nang - Monkeys - shopping -Four Seasons in Nam Hai (Many Pics and commentary from Mike!)
We checked into the Four Seasons after our ride....Not sure I will want to get on the bike tomorrow!
We have a huge bungalow with a view!
Indoor & outdoor showers!
Fishing hut where they harvest oysters.
The Vietnamese don’t waste anything. Used motorbike tires are attached to poles in the water to grow oysters. After they knock off the oysters they place the tires on the road to crush the remaining shells which are used to make concrete. Once cleaned, they go back in the water to grow more oysters and the process begins anew.
Mike often stops to take great pictures. This time one of our guides, Kevin took a pic of Mike!
Fishing nets on the river. They drop them down overnight and then pull them up the next day and gather the fish inside them.
We only made it halfway up the mountain climb to the pass. I bailed when my heart rate was surpassing 170 bpm, and Lynn got a tow from our guide Devin.

Riding along the coast to Son Tra...They call it Monkey Mountain. We did see
several monkeys!
Before we went to dinner, we went to this tailor shop. Mike is having a shirt and a pair of navy blue boots
made (his typical Tom Petty styled boots). We pick them up around 3 PM tomorrow. I didn't get anything, it is
a bit overwhelming.
Kenneth & Pam, sitting on the left side of the table were the next CRASH victims.
Pam stopped to look at the monkeys and Ken didn't notice as he rode behind her. He
ran into her, fell off of his bike and broke his elbow in three places. He is NOT
in a lot of pain, so they are calling his doctor to see if they should just finish the trip (without
biking) or return to CA. Often, before surgery, they need the swelling to go down. So he will wait to
hear from his doctor. MUST BE CAREFUL!!
That view! Beautiful
ReplyDeleteHi Lori! It sure is a beautiful view. Leaving here today and heading to Cambodia. Is Vietnam on your bucket list?
ReplyDeleteFor beauty yes, but I can only imagine “is this gluten free” conversations might be challenging!
