Hanoi - Hue - PhuBai to ThuanAn

We were bound for the airport at 6AM for an early flight which was delayed about an hour
and a half. Mike met Zoe, a very articulate girl.

Staging area where we are fitted for our bikes.

Fist stop at a family temple for lunch. The temples built in honor of their ancestors are
elaborate and often look much better than their homes.

Cruising through the neighborhood!

Fishing boats. There are flags waving in most places this week. TET is sort of like our 4th of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas wrapped into one week of celebrations.

The blue barrels are the beginnings of fish sauce. The ingredients include anchovies, salt and water.
It is fermented for up to two years.

I think these are vegetable gardens.

UNESCO heritage site, a historic Citadel. There were a number of Emperors that lived and built
this. I couldn't keep the details in my head! Between the number and rankings of concubines, kings and the eunuchs! A new vocabulary word for me. A EUNUCH is a castrated male. They were employed as guards and servants in women's quarters and managed the household for the king.

King's throne
